A Ripped Galaxy

Throughout the universe, there are winds 10,000 faster and stronger than those on Earth. These winds could be formed by the intense emission of light and particles from light stars. They can be also formed by the massive energy of explosions of old stars. Another way these winds could be formed is by the matter of objects swirling around the black hole in the center of the galaxy. The winds were so strong that they basically torn the galaxy apart. The winds intertwined and moved the stars out of place causing the galaxy to change its shape.

A Pizza In Space

Io, Jupiter's third largest moon is the most volcanically active body in the Solar System. Its spews about 100 times more lava than all of the volcanoes on Earth combined. Though Io is only a tiny bit bigger than Earth's moon, its nature combines to the most dangerous havoc in the Solar System! Io is the only known body other than Earth to produce lava. Scientists predict that Io's lava ocean may spill and cover up the entire moon. Unlike Earth, Io doesn't have a basic magnetic field. Temperatures in this scorching heat rise to 2,200 degrees fahrenheit! Due to the existence of magma, Io must have a crust displacement which allows to move the crusts. However, scientists still try to learn more of this mysterious inferno.

Fish Genes

The data that has been received was fantastic. It was all about a fish habitat and its changes.There were twelve fish. The gene pool provided the genes: GG, Gy, Gr (Green) is dominant), rr(red) is recessive to green but co-dominant to yellow), yy (yellow) is recessive to green but co-dominant to red) and ry (orange). These colors were the colors of the fishes' scales. In the first generation, 58% (7) of the population were green fish, 17% (2) were red fish, 8% (1) were yellow fish and 17% (2) were orange fish. However, yellow fish are easy to be seen in the natural habitat, therefore, they were eaten. The second generation only contained 11 fish. In the habitat, 63% (7) of the population were green fish, 9% (1) were red fish, 18% (2) were yellow fish, and 9% (1) were orange fish. Again, the yellow fish became dinner and were eaten. The third generation had 8 fish: 63% (5) of the fish were green and 37% (3) of the fish were red.

Suddenly, a natural disaster occurred, all the green fish died. Therefore, there were only 2 red fish surviving. One way the habitat could have changed is that the algae changed to a different color other than disappearing. If they turned brown/yellow, it would've been better protection for all the fish. However, protection for all the fish would mean no food for the predators. Therefore, all predators would die and the fish would overpopulate. Another way the lab would change is if the green allele was NOT dominant. Then there will be a more variety of fish. In the end, the lab taught a valuable lesson of allele combinations and habitat life.

Chaos in Egypt

President Mubarak has been ruling Egypt for 30 years. Since January 25, Egyptian civilians have been revolting against the government. A few days later, Mubarak assigns a vice president, Omar Suleiman. Rebellion gets worse every second, for example, many people are looting houses, prisoners escape from jail and steal the polices' guns. Even worse, the army gets involved. Tanks are swarming the streets while ranks of soldiers are marching beside them. Many civilians are desperately begging the army's protection from looters and killers. It is said that who ever left their house was shot dead. President Obama gave some advice to Mubarak saying that he should do what the people want him to do. Basically, the Egypt Revolution is between the People and the Army against the Government and the Police. The only question is, what will they do now....?

Solar Eclipse Amazes Italy

A fantastic Partial Eclipse occurred in Rome, Italy on January 4, 2011. European scientists and astronomers and skywatchers were simply surprised by the spectacular sight. "An amazing eclipse!" exclaimed Masi, a European astronomer. Many people have never seen an eclipse before, therefore, observing one is a "one-in-a-lifetime" opportunity.

Most believe that this eclipse is the best one ever seen in Europe, but lots of others can surpass this one. "I was impressed to see many casual observers trying to look at the sun," Masi said. "People were quite informed, I must say: Eclipses are among the things happening up there they like more." Luckily, the next eclipse in Europe will be seen on March 20, 2015.

A solar eclipse is formed when the moon blocks sunlight that reaches the Earth. They last for eight minutes and must be observed with special eye wear. Eye connection with an eclipse can cause blindness.Solar Eclipses are great phenomenons, therefore, I believe that there should be more frequent eclipses happening around the world.
